Any plans to fix the driver issues with Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controllers?

Looks like there are lots of people having issue with the Realtek GBE drivers.

Just found the post below and it fix my issue:

If you have unsupported VPN software installed on Windows 8.1 when you upgrade, you may encounter this problem. We are currently working on a fix.To check if this is causing your networking issue:

  1. Right-click the Start button and select Command Prompt (Admin).

  2. Type the following command in the window and hit Enter:

    netcfg –s n

  3. This will show a list of networking protocols, drivers and services.Check to see if DNI_DNE is listed in the output. If it is, this problem applies to you.

  4. If DNI_DNE is present, in the same command prompt window, type the following commands to resolve the problem:

    reg delete HKCRCLSID{988248f3-a1ad-49bf-9170-676cbbc36ba3} /va /f

    netcfg -v -u dni_dne

  5. If you receive the error 0x80004002 after running this fix, either the register key was not deleted or the key that needs to be deleted is slightly different.Open Regedit and navigate to the key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{988248f3-a1ad-49bf-9170-676cbbc36ba3}.Delete it if it still exists. If it is not present and you still received this error, please reply to the post.We may contact you to help identify the cause of this error.

If this resolves your issue, in order to use your VPN, you will need to contact the manufacturer of the VPN software to obtain a version that is supported for use on Windows 10.

I recently updated all my drivers on my laptop since I also updated to Windows 10. When I updated the driver for my RealTek PCIe GBE Family Controller (10.1... or something like that) I started having a lot of issues. My wireless would work fine but when I would plug in my ethernet cable my internet would stop working after about 2-8 minutes. I would then run the network troubleshooter and I would either get 'Default Gateway not detected' or 'No ethernet cable detected'. At this point I would either have to restart my router, my computer or both in order to get my wired connection to work again, otherwise I would just use wi-fi. I reverted back to the old driver version (8.19.726.2013) and haven't had any issues yet but it's only been about 15 minutes. Should I just stay with this old driver or is there another work around where I can the new version to actually work properly? Is there someplace I can get one of the drivers that came in between my old driver and the new one?
